Board Nominations Open

Welcome to your opportunity to further serve your Unity South Central Region (USCR).

The 2024 USCR Nominating Committee is looking for visionaries to run for an October 2024 elected Board of Trustee position. Visioning requires a broad perspective made possible by attunement to Spirit backed by thoughtful deliberation. Specific qualifications requested of 2024 nominees include joyful and supportive experience with YFM (Youth & Family Ministry) or DEIJB (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Justice, and Belonging).

Upon election, you will connect and collaborate with other dedicated, principled Unity leaders. You will experience spiritual growth, leadership, and team building as a working board member.

General Description of Board Service

USCR is run by its board of trustees with the assistance of a few dedicated staff members. Serving as a board member includes focusing on individual tasks for each position, the monthly board meeting, attending the regional conference, and the annual and any special board and membership meetings.

Time Commitment

Depending on the position and role(s) a board member holds, the monthly time commitment may be anywhere between one or two hours per week on average, not including travel and participation in the regional conference and other events. Some positions, such as the president or the regional representative, require significantly more time commitments.

Requirements

  • Preparing and submitting any relevant reports for the board and other meetings.

  • Attending monthly board and other meetings.

  • Fulfilling the duties of the assignment position and role on the board.

  • Preparing, hosting, and/or attending meetings relevant to the assigned position and role(s).

  • Serving as a liaison to USCR, UWM, and other teams relevant to the assignments.

  • Attending regional and other conferences/conventions as needed.

Payment

The USCR board position is non-paid.

Qualifications

Any person elected to the board of trustees must be an active member of a ministry. They will be a person who:

  • Desires to serve on the board;

  • endeavors to live according to the Principles of Love and Truth as taught by Unity and as shown in their personal stories of spiritual growth;

  • furthers the work of the region by active participation, service, and documented financial support;

  • and is willing to follow the principles of agreeing and disagreeing in Love.

Eligibility

Those eligible for membership shall be within USCR’s jurisdiction as defined by their bylaws and bylaw policies. Such individuals include:

  • A licensed and/or ordained Unity minister

  • A Licensed Unity Teacher

  • A delegate of a member ministry

  • An individual who is placed into THE (not any) leadership position of a Unity ministry

Limitations and Exclusions

  • There shall not be more than one trustee affiliated with any one member ministry or organization.

  • No board of trustees shall be affiliated with UWM or UWH if engaged in the following (but not limited to) capacities: board member, employee, UWM-certified consultant, etc.
