Youth of Unity (YOU)

We, the Youth of Unity, are powerful, unique beings of light, facilitating self-growth and spirituality through sacred connection, oneness, self-love, and open-mindedness. We provoke wonder and encourage exploration outside our comfort zones.

How do I get involved?

Any Unity church or study group affiliated with Unity Worldwide Ministries may facilitate an active YOU group.

A YOU group typically meets on a weekly basis, usually Sunday morning. Youth discuss and learn a variety of spiritual teachings, attend social gatherings, and become involved in their church and community. Officers, or a leadership team, are often elected to help plan for the local group.

What is an active YOU group?

An active YOU group:

· Is under the direction of a recognized Unity member ministry of Unity Worldwide Ministries

· Is active in their regional YOU

· Includes one or more teens ranging from the ages of 14 through 19 (grades 9–12) years of age and at least one adult sponsor

Annual Legacy Rally

Every summer, USCR hosts the YOU Legacy Rally each year in June. Legacy is a 5-day long spiritually oriented program designed to provide meaningful experiences, as well as creative expressions and fellowship.

The Regi Team

Regional representatives, “regis,” are teens elected each year at their region’s official rally. They plan and lead at least two rallies a year, as well as attend and offer their support to other events held during the year. Regis work closely with their regional consultant.

Ava Kelly, Unity Columbine Spiritual Center

Hello! My name is Ava Kelly, I am from Broomfield, Colorado and I have been attending Columbine Unity, in Boulder Colorado for almost 18 years! I am a senior in high school and I will be attending Montana State University this fall. I love skiing, hiking, camping, backpacking, and spending time in the Unity community.

This year I am so honored to have the opportunity to be a Regional Officer for the South Central region alongside Lizzie Moore and Kate Heidenga. We have been working hard to bring our ideas to fruition for our upcoming Legacy Rally in Tahlequah, Oklahoma this June!

Columbine Unity and Unity as a whole has been a guiding star for me as I have gone through many changes and seasons in my life and it has truly been an honor to work alongside my amazing co-Regis this year in order to share the passion I have for Unity with fellow YOUers!

Kate Heidenga, Unity Columbine Spiritual Center

My name is Kate Heidenga and I live in Boulder, Colorado and attend Columbine Unity Spiritual Center. I am a senior in high school and am planning on attending college next year in California. This is my second year participating in YOU and I have absolutely fallen in love with the loving, purposeful, and unique community. At my center, I frequently help out with the younger groups as a babysitter and summer camp counselor as I absolutely love spending time with kids that help me embrace my inner creative and experience pure joy and fun. Some of my favorite past times are hiking, camping, going out to dinner, going to concerts, and going to yoga!

As a Regi this year, I am so excited to spread some of the knowledge that I have gained through both Unity and my own experience!! I also can not wait to grow even closer to my own spirituality with the knowledge I learn from the other amazing YOU participants and the loving beautiful community that Unity is.

Lizzie Moore,

Unity of San Antonio

Hi! My name is Lizzie Moore and I'm from San Antonio, Texas, in Unity's South Central Region. I'm a junior in high school. Ever since one Sunday, when my close friend showed me the love of Unity, my life has completely changed. I've attended Unity of San Antonio for about five years. My understanding of spirituality and relationship with a higher power have been transformed by the kind souls that surround me every Sunday.

I attended my first YOU Rally last summer, where I believe I had a spiritual awakening. That experience, given to me by two wonderful Regis, was indescribable, something I am endlessly grateful for. Today, I have the opportunity to work with two wonderful girls and strive to provide other YOUers with a similar experience, and show them the same love and care I received at Rally!
