A HEART-CENTERED FOCUS ON INCLUSIVITY FOR SOCIETAL TRANSFORMATION
– Rev. Sherrie Taylor-Jones
This workshop is to aid spiritual leaders in tackling the issues of intolerance that is pervasive in our political and economic environments. The belief in “otherness” that is perpetuated by intolerance also impacts our communities. This interactive workshop will offer insights and practical techniques for participants to use to advance the dialogue beyond diversity and colorblindness into embracing the worldview of inclusivity, which holds that we are all inextricably linked. Participants will gain understanding of tools for recognizing biases and dominant societal narratives that open up a pathway for societal healing and restoration while minimizing the perpetuation of guilt and shame. Using heart-opening exercises, we’ll practice keeping the heart open to unity us and bridge gaps in our understanding of others.
Rev. Sherrie Taylor-Jones is an ordained Unity Minister. She brings a dedicated, enthusiastic and mature approach to spiritual development. Sherrie sees each of us connected to One Power and One Presence regardless of religion, spiritual identity, gender, sexual orientation, or race. Sherrie is the Senior Minister at Unity of Lawrence since 2016.
